Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Full-Time On-site Medical Coder, where your expertise will be pivotal in translating medical documentation into precise, standardized codes that facilitate accurate billing, reimbursement, and data analysis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with industry standards while streamlining medical record management. Your meticulous attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of medical coding will directly impact the efficiency and integrity of our healthcare operations. Duties Review and analyze medical records, documentation, and reports to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes using
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
(Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) systems. Ensure accurate coding for diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and services in accordance with current coding guidelines and regulations. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies or ambiguities to ensure precise coding. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in medical coding standards, insurance requirements, and compliance regulations. Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently for data entry, retrieval, and management of medical records. Support medical billing and collections processes by providing accurate coded data to facilitate timely reimbursements. Conduct quality audits on coded records to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies. Qualifications Proven experience in medical coding within a healthcare setting, with familiarity in
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and data entry. Background in medical billing and collections is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical records accurately. Prior experience in a medical office environment is preferred.
