Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented OBGYN Certified Medical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses, procedures, and services using standardized coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and DRG. You will ensure that all billing processes are precise, compliant, and efficiently processed through Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the seamless operation of medical billing, collections, and record management, supporting optimal revenue cycle management and patient care documentation. Responsibilities Review and assign appropriate
ICD-9, ICD-10
diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes based on detailed review of medical records and provider documentation. Utilize DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications to facilitate hospital billing processes. Ensure accurate coding for all services rendered in accordance with current coding guidelines and payer requirements. Prepare and submit clean claims for insurance reimbursement while adhering to compliance standards. Collaborate with billing team to resolve denials for coding errors Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Stay updated on changes
ICD-10, CPT
coding standards, and healthcare regulations to ensure ongoing accuracy. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation when necessary for proper coding. Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently to document coding activities and manage patient records. Skills Proficiency in
ICD-10, CPT
coding systems along with DRG classifications. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and pharmacology relevant to accurate coding. Experience with medical billing processes including claims submission and follow-up procedures. Familiarity with medical collection practices to facilitate effective account management. Hands-on experience working with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record keeping. Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise coding and billing accuracy. Ability to interpret complex medical records and documentation for proper code assignment.
