Certified Medical Coder

Medical billing company in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a certified medical coder to play a vital role in ensuring accurate coding for reimbursement and compliance. As a Medical Billing Coder, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals and contribute to financial success.

Responsibilities:

Accurately assign ICD and CPT codes following coding guidelines. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and precise documentation. Work closely with billing and finance teams for timely claims submission. Resolve coding-related denials and discrepancies with insurance providers. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other coding regulations through regular audits. Stay updated on medical billing coding regulations and compliance.

Qualifications:

Active

CPC/CPC-A

certification One (1) year experience as a Certified Medical Coder is required. Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements regarding privacy, security and confidentiality. Experience reviewing patient accounts including in-depth understanding of medical billing procedures, including but not limited to accurate assessment of denials. Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
