Full Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:
Provides strategic direction for assigned departments. Oversees daily operations, patient throughput, length of stay, and level-of-care optimization to ensure alignment with organizational goals and capacity management strategies. Accountable for clinical quality metrics including infection prevention (CLABSI, CAUTI), falls, pressure injuries, medication safety, mortality index (as applicable), and compliance with evidence-based care bundles. Promotes a culture of safety and high reliability. Develops and manages operating and capital budgets. Monitors productivity benchmarks (HPPD, skill mix, FTE management), premium labor utilization, agency usage, and variance reporting to ensure fiscal stewardship and cost containment. Recruits, develops, and retains high-performing nursing leaders and staff. Promotes specialty certification, shared governance, succession planning, leadership rounding, and engagement initiatives to strengthen workforce stability. Accountable for patient satisfaction and service excellence metrics, including HCAHPS (as applicable). Supports interdisciplinary collaboration to improve care coordination and communication across the continuum. Maintains continuous survey readiness and ensures compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. Ensures adherence to professional nursing practice standards and organizational policies.
Additional Information:
Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in nursing and 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in acute care Required Master's Degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field Preferred RN
- Registered Nurse
- State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama Upon Hire Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire Required Specialty Certification in area of expertise.
