This role involves managing participant care, and clinical outcomes, and implementing and overseeing quality assessment and performance improvement programs. The Medical Director will report to the CMO and collaborate closely with the executive management team to develop and execute strategies aimed at improving patient care and advancing medical practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with providers to educate them on our care processes and identify opportunities to enhance overall care quality. Manage various aspects of medical care delivery and clinical services, including cost management, utilization review, quality assurance, clinical safety/risk management, and medical protocol development. Attend and contribute to administrative and clinical staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to participants, medical staff, and employees. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with employees, supervisors, and other staff. Oversee group physicians' activities, including recruitment, credentialing, and onboarding. Engage in administrative decision-making, recommending, approving, and implementing policies and procedures. Contribute to the development and implementation of education programs and formal training related to Standards of Practice and Treatment Protocols for all medical services personnel. Consult with medical providers to develop assessment and treatment protocols and design training programs. Monitor and promote the health, safety, and welfare of clinical staff. Uphold and articulate our mission and values to clinical staff and to the community. Establish policies and procedures to ensure individual rights are respected. Acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of social, regulatory, political, and economic factors related to patient care services. Support and advocate for person-directed care approaches. Provide direct and indirect medical services to patients as assigned. Provide leadership and support to the Quality Improvement program to ensure high-quality patient care. Collaborate regularly with the specialty care medical directors. Maintain knowledge of changes and developments within and related to the healthcare industry. Provide recommendations and assist in the development of integrated delivery systems in collaboration with the operations team. All other duties as assigned. MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Minimum of 5 years as an active Physician with at least 2 years in a leadership role Active and unrestricted Arizona medical license Proven leadership experience in primary care or population health Experience with value-based care models and quality metrics (HEDIS, STAR, etc.) Experience with population health platforms (Adageis strongly preferred) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Ability to travel to all HealthyU Clinics Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive measurable improvements in care quality and performance Current knowledge of acute and chronic care best practices HealthyU Clinics is a value-based healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple states and specialties.
