Faculty Position Summary:
The Director of Doctor of Ministry is responsible for the oversight of the Doctor of Ministry program including general administration and budget management, new student recruiting, curricular development, faculty recruitment, and course administration. This position will oversee the Doctor of Ministry Program as well as serve as a residential faculty member in the area of practical theology. The successful appointee will teach courses, mentor students, engage in scholarly research and writing, and participate in the wider life of the Seminary. Responsibilities Curriculum calendar management Faculty Procurement—negotiations and contracting New student recruitment. Advise Student Services Assistants onDMinacademic policy Manage the Doctor of Ministry budget Long-term development of DMin curriculum ATS compliance related to Doctor of Ministry standards Assiststudents with narrowing of topic area to researchable subject Review/submittal process for thesis topic approval petitions Review submittal process for thesis proposals and advisor/reader assignment Servefrequentlyas advisor for student theses/projects Manage all administrative activities with the candidate as they complete their thesis/project (Advisor manages their content, etc.) Administer petitions for DM790-791 and act as faculty member of record for these andappropriateor as requested by student The Director will have the opportunity to teach as an adjunct professor as the need may arise.
Qualifications:
High personal and professional integrity - Evidence of a commitment to Jesus Christ and a life thatdemonstratesconsistency with Biblical standards and the Statement of Faith and governing values of the Seminary. Theologically compatible with the Seminary's Statement of Faith and Faculty Teaching Position. Demonstrate a high degree of institutional loyalty and capability of protecting the confidentiality of sensitive matters related to the institution. Possessesa PhD Degree. Prior pastoral or chaplaincy experience is desirable. Demonstrated effectiveness in administration, counseling, and shepherding. Excellent interpersonal, publicspeaking,and written communication skills. Discretion and ability in diplomacy. Evidence of a strong commitment to the local church, including being a member in good standing of an evangelical, Protestant church Proactive in initiating communication; able to provide objective feedback. Effective networking and relationship-building ability among a varied constituency. Compatibility with the current Phoenix Seminary team.
Evaluation:
The Doctor of Ministry Director, like other staff, will be evaluated at the end of an introductory Period (90-day review), and then on an annual basis.
