The Medical Staff Services Department Director will join a mission-driven hospital that blends a patient-first culture with measurable outcomes, consistently strong quality and safety performance, advanced analytics, and innovation-forward leadership that pilots modern care models like telehealth, hospital-at-home, and value-based care; as MedStaff Director, expect access to cutting-edge tools (robotics-assisted service lines, AI-supported decision aids, and optimized EHR workflows), robust clinician well-being resources, shared governance, rich professional development (tuition support, paid CE, conference funding, simulation), mentorship and teaching opportunities, interdisciplinary collaboration across pharmacy, case management, PT/OT, and social work, progressive process-improvement channels where leadership listens, visible facility investments and service-line expansions, and a brand patients and professionals actively choose—an ideal platform for a high-impact healthcare leadership career in Southern California.

Within the Medical Staff Services unit, the Medical Staff Services Department Director will guide a high-performing Medical Staff Office (MSO) that excels in credentialing and privileging, provider onboarding and enrollment, bylaws and governance support, OPPE/FPPE, peer review, committee management, and continuous survey-readiness; this MedStaff Director will elevate operations through data-driven turnaround times, meticulous primary-source verification, agenda and minutes management for MEC and Credentials Committee, and policy modernization aligned with The Joint Commission and CMS standards, all while drawing strength from an Award Winning Community Health Center culture, leveraging new technology for automation and dashboards, and partnering closely with a full RN staff embedded across service lines for seamless, clinician-friendly workflows.

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer and partnering with Quality, Compliance, Legal, and Nursing Leadership, the Medical Staff Services Department Director will lead credentialing coordinators and analysts, manage budgets and vendor relationships, standardize privilege delineations and EHR build governance, steward medical staff bylaws and policy updates, coordinate department chair and committee support, oversee peer review and focused evaluations, and drive accreditation readiness; as MedStaff Director, expect strong cross-functional support from friendly nurses, physician champions, advanced practice providers, and a diverse healthcare professional team that values mutual respect, transparency, and shared success in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Set in Southern California, the Medical Staff Services Department Director will enjoy year-round sunshine, iconic beaches, mountain and desert escapes, and a vibrant lifestyle that mixes outdoor adventure with world-class arts, concerts, festivals, and culinary scenes; as MedStaff Director, benefit from varied housing options (urban lofts, suburban family neighborhoods, coastal enclaves, and quiet inland communities), solid transportation and airport connectivity, bike-friendly corridors and walkable districts, strong school systems and renowned higher education, thriving job markets across healthcare, tech, entertainment, aerospace, and logistics, diverse and inclusive communities with active civic life, abundant parks and fitness culture, comprehensive healthcare access, and a balanced blend of privacy or density as preferred; the region offers resilient infrastructure, entrepreneur-friendly ecosystems, and future-forward development, while mindful of natural hazard preparedness and environmental quality initiatives—delivering a compelling mix of affordability by neighborhood, consumer protections, and a dynamic social and political landscape that supports professional and personal growth.

This role provides competitive compensation aligned to scope and experience, including base salary and potential performance incentives, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement plans with employer match, generous paid time off, parental leave, certification pay, tuition assistance and CME funds, wellness and mental health resources, and relocation support; to explore how the Medical Staff Services Department Director position can accelerate your leadership trajectory in Southern California, connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter today—launch your next chapter and make credentialing excellence your signature. 🚀
