Medical Records Director Oak Glen Post Acute -
Yucaipa, CA Salary:
$70,304 - $72,000 annually Oak Glen Post Acute is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Director to lead our health information management functions. This role is essential in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely medical record documentation to support quality resident care and regulatory compliance. Position Summary The Medical Records Director is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, accuracy, and security of resident medical records in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines. This position plays a key role in supporting interdisciplinary teams, survey readiness, and overall facility compliance. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the medical records department operations Ensure all resident records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory standards Maintain filing systems (electronic and/or paper) and ensure timely record retrieval Monitor and track incomplete records and follow up with staff for corrections File clinical documentation including physician orders, assessments, lab reports, and progress notes Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards Support audits, surveys, and quality assurance initiatives Collaborate with nursing, MDS, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams Assist with incident/accident documentation and record maintenance Qualifications Previous experience in medical records or health information management required Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred Knowledge of HIPAA, OBRA, and medical record regulatory requirements Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Why Join Oak Glen Post Acute?
