Position Summary As the Medical Director of Psychiatric Services , you will provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for our 12-bed inpatient Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU) for adults over the age of 65, as well as support psychiatric services across our entire campus. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, service-oriented psychiatric care in compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership to psychiatric providers, collaborates with clinical and administrative executives, and serves as a key physician leader.
Note:
This role is structured as an administrative position ($250k salary) coupled with direct patient care provided as an Independent Contractor to generate additional clinical professional fees. Key Responsibilities Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU)
Leadership:
Manage daily administrative and clinical responsibilities for the 12-bed inpatient geriatric psych unit in collaboration with other APU providers.
Campus-Wide Support:
Oversee and support psychiatric services across the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Assisted Living/Memory Care residences.
Medical Staff Leadership:
Partner with clinical and administrative executive leadership to champion quality improvement initiatives, compliance, and clinical excellence. Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited program. Board Certification or Eligibility in Psychiatry (Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship or extensive experience in geriatric psych strongly preferred). Active, unrestricted California Medical License. Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills within a multidisciplinary team. Physical ability to perform standard clinical and administrative duties on an active healthcare campus.
