Job Description:
The Ground Transport Clinical Practice Medical Director is a physician who is responsible for leading the development of unified guidelines for ground scene response and interfacility transport. Essential Functions Serve as the physician leader and chair of the Ground EMS Clinical Practice Committee, establishing clear purpose, scope, priorities, and cadence Ensure committee work remains aligned with enterprise clinical strategy, air medical Joint Clinical Practice Committee, regulatory requirements in the states where services are provided, and patient safety priorities Act as the clinical integrator across historically distinct EMS agencies, fostering trust, shared accountability, and professional respect Provide clinical leadership input on operational logistics that impact patient care, by participation in selection of supplies and equipment that align with the standardized clinical guidelines Coordinate with clinical training staff on the development of a curriculum to ensure frontline crew members can execute clinical guidelines with high reliability Skills Leadership Interpersonal Communication Relationship Building Strategic Planning People Management Continual Improvement Process Workforce Planning Health Administration Medical Staff Training Health Care Minimum Qualifications MD or DO with ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification in a specialty relevant to ground medical transport Active Medical Licensure Current contract as a ground EMS medical director within Intermountain FAS Minimum three years of clinical experience in relevant specialty and experience in leading successful quality improvement projects within the clinical setting. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Physical Requirements Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information. Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. See and read computer monitors and documents. Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
