Supports and directly participate in the medical delivery of care and ensures the delivery of quality health care services for the participants in the PACE program. Supports and directs Central Valley PACE medically-related committee work. Oversight of providers and care team, care delivery, modeling professionalism, enhancing communication, and assisting with provider development to achieve the overall goal of providing excellent patient-centered treatment, care, and services in a team environment. The PACE Associate Medical Director is responsible for supporting the activities of the PACE program, providers and clinical care team, as well as care delivery for the population served.Responsibilities include:
direct patient care services, mentoring and assisting with provider and clinical care team performance and development, policy development, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, improve health status of patients, optimal provider productivity, and a safe, culturally sensitive, appropriate environment of care. The PACE Associate Medical Director will assist in special projects as requested by the PACE Medical Director, as well as participate directly or indirectly with clinical committees as necessitated by their position.Location and Schedule:
This position will work at our Central Valley Stockton PACE Center, scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. Flexibility to work scheduled evening clinic hours, and when appropriate. Will train at the Central Valley Modesto PACE Center, and support as needed.Compensation:

Operational/Leadership Duties Responsible for delivery of care and clinical outcomes. Provides medical guidance and supervision of medical services and activities. Provides leadership and medical expertise in the development of medical policies, procedures and guidelines. Responsible for the development of Central Valley PACE clinical standards and medical practice guidelines and protocols with the PACE Medical Director and Clinical Committee. Participate and support the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Plan. Reviews all quality of care issues and oversees the development and implementation of quality of care corrective action plans. Participates in the oversight, training and education of the interdisciplinary team. Coordinates performance appraisal of the Primary Care Physician. Develops educational and other programs to build the skills of participating providers. In conjunction with Contract Manager, manages all communication with the provider network. Represents Central Valley PACE to external agencies, professional groups and regulatory agencies and organizations as required. Demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge as outlined in position-specific competency requirements. Assures proper supervision and mentoring of nurse practitioners and physician assistants and new MDs/DOs consistent with GVHC standards and state regulations. Clinical Duties Direct outpatient care at least 80% of the week. Provides comprehensive, ongoing and patient oriented primary care. Meets compliance standards in conjunction with GVHC's personnel policies, clinical protocols, principles of practice and supervision of clinician staff (to include signing of charts for NP/PAs as needed). Attends and participates in general medical staff meetings and other assigned committee activities. Maintains active membership in County Medical Society and California Medical Association. Supervision of NP/PA and MD/DO staff, acts as a preceptor to clinicians in training as required. Other duties and/or special projects/assignments as required. Classification(s) Supervised Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctors and Doctors of Osteopathy Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring patients may involve lifting or pushing greater than 30 pounds, should be done with assistance as appropriate. Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry patients. Must be able to hear staff/clients on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff. Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling. Work Environment Exposure to biohazards, including infectious material and waste and any other conditions common in a health care environment. Subject to unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, but may at times be noisy and crowded.Education/Experience Requirements Minimum Qualifications :
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of tact and composure in dealing with patients and/or staff. Ability to handle confidential information. Strong time management abilities. Ability to travel to other sites and/or locations as needed. Valid CA Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and vehicle insurance. Education/Experience Current unencumbered California Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy license, and Board certified or eligible Physician in a Primary Care specialty. Current BLS CPR Card certified by American Heart Association. Minimum of three years' experience in a lead administrative role. Minimum of one year primary care experience with a frail, elderly or long-term care population. Minimum of two years' experience working in a managed care environment working with peers and other health providers to resolve utilization, quality management, performance improvement, pharmacy and therapeutics, peer review, credentialing, and physician leadership issues.Similar jobs in Stockton, CA
