Full Time Job Summary:
The System Director, Graduate Medical Education (GME) oversees all aspects of residency, fellowship, and research programs within Saint Francis Health System (SFHS). This role will drive education growth and development across the health system while ensuring the quality of medical education programs and maintaining accreditation standards.
Minimum Education:
Master's degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field. Licensure, Registration and/or
Certification:
None.
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in undergraduate and/or graduate medical programming.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge and understanding of GME programming and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other applicable software. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information. Demonstrated skills in leading and guiding individuals and creating a culture of trust and collaboration. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Directs and oversees the operations of system-wide research compliance program to enable consistent, effective practices to comply with federal and state laws and regulations applicable to healthcare organizations. Oversees and directs the administration and operations of all graduate medical education programs within SFHS. Supports growth of new and emerging residency programs by adapting or creating trainings/workshops to address training needs. Develops and implements educational objectives, policies, and procedures to meet the program objectives and maintain compliance with accreditation standards while incorporating a comprehensive and progressive learning experience for residents and fellows. Leads quality improvement initiatives within existing programs, regularly reviewing program outcomes, and addressing areas for improvement. Collaborates with other program directors, department chairs, and hospital leadership to ensure coordination and integration of educational activities, resources, and services. Provides guidance and mentorship to faculty members involved in resident education. Promotes a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters professional growth, clinical competence, and scholarly activity. Oversees and streamlines the management and collection of graduate and faculty assessment data essential for academic planning, program assessment, and program improvement. Promotes SFHS educational and research program visibility and engagement within the medical community. Builds national and international presence for SFHS as a leading academic healthcare system practicing standard of care to lead future providers. Participates in SFHS initiatives and planning and alignment of short-and-long term strategic goals. Works with hospital administration and nursing leadership to cultivate a productive, collaborative working relationship to improve academic operations and standardize academic goals.

Independent judgement in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.
Working Relationships:
Direct supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level and above.
