Purchasing/Receiving Job Description Summary:
Facilitates the critical need of multidisciplinary project management and direction for clinical medical equipment conversions and/or implementations. Provides MSMC with a single point or responsibility to organize physician, nursing, clinician, IT, clinical/biomedical, facilities, construction, and any other stakeholders of all clinical equipment projects.
Position Responsibilities Project Leadership & Team Collaboration:
Lead multidisciplinary teams (Nursing, IT, Clinical Engineering, and Facilities) to coordinate the physical installation and integration of new medical technologies.
Strategic Procurement:
Partner with the Supply Chain team to manage the equipment lifecycle, from initial Request for Proposal (RFP) and vendor selection to final asset tagging.
Site Readiness & Planning:
Conduct "walk-throughs" and planning sessions to ensure clinical spaces meet the electrical, structural, and IT requirements for incoming equipment.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary liaison between clinical department heads (who need the gear) and the executive suite (who approves the budget).
Risk Mitigation:
Identify potential bottlenecks in the global supply chain or local installation schedules and develop contingency plans to prevent clinical downtime.
Post-Installation Handover:
Ensure all equipment is calibrated, staff are trained by vendors, and maintenance contracts are successfully transitioned to the Clinical Engineering team. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Current Registered Nurse Licensure Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related clinical field required. Experience Minimum of five years of clinical experience required.(Bargaining/Nursing background is a plus).
