Job Description

The MDFR Medical Director must be a physician licensed to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in the State of Florida pursuant to Chapters 458 or 459, Florida Statutes, and must have successfully completed an accredited medical education program leading to a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree. The candidate must possess a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine or a related specialty, including experience with emergency medical services (EMS) systems, medical direction, field response operations, protocol development, training, and quality improvement programs. Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification, and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advance Pediatric Life Support (APLS), and Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP), or Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC). Must possess a valid registration and certificate issued by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA.) Preference will be given to individuals who have EMS and prehospital patient care.
