Job Description
Empath Health is seeking an Associate Medical Director that has overall responsibility for medical direction of the care and treatment of patients and their families rendered by the hospice care team. Oversees the palliation and management of terminal illness in accordance with the accepted standards of practice and which support the philosophy, mission and purpose of Hospice and Palliative Care. Provides physician direction and guidance to interdisciplinary groups and maintains responsibility for the direction and quality of the medical component of care rendered to the patient/family unit. This position provides physician direction and guidance to the program, its physician employees, other staff and volunteers to assure the maintenance and quality standards of care for patients and families. Do :
Part-time hospice Associate Medical Director Physician up to 20 hours per week Growth can lead to full-time Associate Medical Director role Ability to round in care centers Monday-Friday Ability to lead teams Availability to answer calls from nurses, CNA's, chaplains, CTM's, plan of care calls, etc., Monday through Friday 8-5. Death certificates daily Rx fills daily in a timely manner from 8-5, keeping in mind Rx filled after 2 pm cannot be delivered that day IDG meetings weekly Wednesdays or Thursdays, with review of all recerts, admissions, Rx, and orders signed. Weekly recertification CTI's Review of all admissions daily, including med reconciliation Coordination of care with outside entities, including hospitals, specialists, etc. Interception of hospital admissions with a plan in place to transition out to IPU or back to homecare Why Join Empath Health?Earn Competitive Pay:

MD or DO degree form an accredited medical school board certified in a related specialty Board Certification Current Florida license to practice medicine pursuant to Florida Statue 458 or 459 Minimum 2 years recent active practice and direct medical care experience Certification in hospice and palliative medicine strongly preferred Hospital staff privileges at one or more hospitals Current federal DEA registration Valid CPR Certification required if patient facing What You'll Find at Empath Health Unified in empathy, we serve our communities through extraordinary Full Life Care for All.
