Position Overview - Medical Director The Medical Director leads the hospital's medical team and oversees clinical operations to ensure the highest standards of patient care, client experience, and team engagement. This role blends clinical practice with leadership responsibilities , guiding veterinarians and staff while working closely with hospital leadership to drive medical excellence, operational efficiency, and business performance. The Medical Director serves as an advocate for pets and their quality of life while fostering strong relationships with clients, team members, and the local community. Leadership Responsibilities Lead and mentor veterinarians and support staff to ensure high-quality medical care Partner with the Practice Manager and operations leadership to support hospital performance and team development Train and coach team members on hospital procedures, medical standards, and client service expectations Ensure compliance with medical guidelines and regulatory standards Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of veterinary team members Develop scheduling plans for veterinarians to ensure appropriate coverage Participate in hospital planning, budgeting, and productivity initiatives Promote a positive and supportive workplace culture Clinical & Functional Responsibilities Provide high-quality veterinary medical care, diagnostics, and treatment plans Build strong relationships with clients through education, communication, and follow-up care Lead the veterinary team in managing daily schedules and caseloads Collaborate with the hospital team to improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes Address client concerns and ensure excellent client experiences Maintain ethical standards and professional integrity in all clinical decisions Support preventive care and long-term patient wellness Qualifications DVM or VMD degree required Veterinary license in good standing (or eligibility) in the state of Florida Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience 1-3 years of leadership or mentoring experience preferred Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills Experience with surgical procedures, dentistry, and diagnostics is a plus Preferred Skills Soft tissue surgery Orthopedic procedures Dentistry Ultrasound Urgent care experience Saturday availability required.
