Job Description

Immediate opportunity for a full time
Emergency Department Manager:
Position is responsible for administrative direction of the Emergency Department and Emergency Preparedness Program, focusing on patient care and regulatory compliance; coordinates activities such as staffing, departmental meetings, quality assurance/performance improvement, budget preparation/monitoring, department goals, orientation, staff education/inservices, maintenance of personnel records and staff evaluations. Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Maintains emergency preparedness by developing policies, response plans, and staff education. Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday but may require occasional night and/or weekend coverage. May function as a staff RN as needed.
Qualifications/Experience:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing Licensed as an RN in the State of Illinois Five years emergency or critical care experience Previous management or supervisory experience preferred BLS and ACLS Certification PALS Certification within 30 days of hire ENPC, TNCC, and NRP within one year of hire TNS preferred Knowledge of IDPH and other state and federal regulations Knowledge and understanding of emergency preparedness standards
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate good interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrate clinical competence and knowledge in caring for adolescent through geriatric patients. Must be able to tolerate stress and work in a fast-paced environment subject to interruptions. Sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time with excessive computer input. May be exposed to communicable diseases.

$82,000.00 - $127,000.00 per year
