Job ID:
TBD Locum tenens opportunity in Raceland, LA at a Critical Access Hospital providing ongoing emergency department coverage beginning 08/03/2026. Flexible clinical schedule covering adult and pediatric emergency patients in a department averaging ~19,000 ED visits per year, with admissions and a broad case mix including trauma, acute medical, and surgical conditions. Clinical setting and support ED capacity: 6 beds, plus 2 fast-track and 4 ICU beds; hospital total 35 beds Trauma designation:
Critical Access Hospital EMR:
Epic; standard ED equipment available Specialty backup:
Cardiology, Urology, Behavioral Health, OB/GYN, Infusion Services, Wound Care Staffing:
NP/PA coverage ~10 hours/day; physician coverage 24/7 Scope of practice Evaluate, diagnose, and manage emergency, acute, and trauma patients Perform emergency procedures, procedural sedation, airway management, and trauma stabilization Coordinate admissions, transfers, and specialty consults Supervise advanced practice providers as required Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and deliver high-quality care in a resource-limited, critical access setting Credentials and requirements Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license; DEA registration with Louisiana address and Louisiana controlled substance license Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine (new graduates accepted) Residency completion in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or General Surgery Current
ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS
Must meet supervising physician requirements for NP/PA oversight; hospital privileges required Compensation and logistics
