Flexible, primarily remote with occasional on-site availability as needed About Rising Up Rising Up, LLC is a trauma-informed mental health treatment program serving adults ages 18+ across Massachusetts through virtual and on-site programming based in Buzzards Bay. Rising Up specializes in the treatment of trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and related mental health challenges using evidence-based and holistic approaches including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, expressive therapies, EFT, and EMDR-informed care. Our mission is to provide compassionate, innovative, and deeply human-centered care while supporting healing, resilience, and meaningful transformation. Position Summary Rising Up is seeking a collaborative, compassionate, and systems-oriented Nurse Practitioner Medical Director to provide psychiatric and medical oversight for our growing Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). This role is ideal for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who values interdisciplinary collaboration, trauma-informed care, and flexible leadership within a mission-driven organization. The Medical Director will support clinical quality, psychiatric consultation, medication management oversight, and regulatory compliance while partnering closely with executive and clinical leadership. Key Responsibilities Clinical Oversight & Leadership Provide medical and psychiatric oversight for Rising Up's adult mental health IOP/PHP programs Collaborate with Executive Director, Clinical Director, and leadership team regarding clinical programming and patient care standards Support development and maintenance of trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment practices Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and clinical consultation as needed Provide guidance regarding psychiatric acuity, appropriateness for care, and level-of-care recommendations Support clinical decision-making for complex mental health presentations Psychiatric Services Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management services as clinically indicated Review and approve treatment plans when required Consult with therapists, case managers, and group facilitators regarding psychiatric concerns Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation within the EHR system Compliance & Quality Assist in maintaining compliance with Massachusetts DPH regulations and Joint Commission standards Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities Support policy review and development related to psychiatric and medical services Maintain active licensure, DEA registration, and professional liability coverage Collaboration & Meetings Attend leadership or clinical meetings as needed (virtually or on-site) Be available for consultation approximately 4-6 hours weekly Support a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture Qualifications Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license required Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred DEA license and prescriptive authority required Experience working within adult mental health, trauma-informed care, IOP/PHP, outpatient behavioral health, or community mental health settings preferred Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills Comfortable working within virtual care platforms and electronic health records Preferred Qualities We are seeking someone who: Leads with compassion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence Values teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration Understands both clinical excellence and operational sustainability Is flexible, grounded, and solution-focused Enjoys helping build innovative systems of care Compensation Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
