Job Description
VA Boston Healthcare System Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Program Director Brockton, MA VA Boston Healthcare System is seeking candidates with a strong record of academic excellence and leadership experience in graduate medical education to lead our Psychiatry training program and coordinate psychiatry training with our affiliate training programs. The Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Program is a large (32 residents), ACGME-accredited residency affiliated with the VA/Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry and enjoys a rich clinical environment and outstanding faculty dedicated to clinical research and teaching. Candidates for Assistant or Associate Program Director will be considered, commensurate with experience. There may be opportunity for the Associate Program Director to be advanced to Residency Training Director. As New England's premier referral center for Veterans' healthcare, VA Boston has strong academic affiliations with Harvard Medical School and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. The applicant will have a well-balanced mix of experience with direct clinical care, and the teaching & supervision of psychiatry residents & medical students. Appointment as Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements These positions offer a highly competitive VA salary, a generous leave and benefits package, as well as eligibility for up to $200,000 in Educational Debt Reduction and a Recruitment/Relocation Incentive.
Requirements :
Applicants should have at least three years of major administrative and leadership experience in Graduate Medical Education and have strong interpersonal, clinical, and leadership skills. Candidates for Assistant or Associate Program Director will be considered if experience is not commensurate for a Program Director role. BC in General Psychiatry, qualifications for academic appointment at HMS, a commitment to serving Veterans, strong clinical teaching and supervisory skills, and a desire to work as part of an exceptional interprofessional team. The successful candidate must be a US Citizen .
