Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Have a comprehensive understanding of each child, including psychological, home, school, community, culture, socioeconomic factors, and learning issues Provide clinical leadership and understanding of social-emotional goals Contribute to program development and improvement in conjunction with long-range clinical goals Participate and collaborate in all appropriate leadership groups Provide clinical consultation and training to staff and interns Develop relationships with families, facilitate family meetings, and provide short-term intervention Help develop and provide family services Establish ongoing collaborative relationships with outpatient treatment teams, state agencies, support services, and others working on behalf of students Conduct ongoing assessment of students' clinical needs and progress, including crisis intervention, as needed Present and discuss cases at clinical consultation and facilitate clinical meetings with the team Implement recommendations from clinical consults Respond to student behaviors in the classroom and throughout the milieu by utilizing Gifford's behavioral systems Utilizing Safety Care techniques help maintain community safety Attend team meetings, contribute to IEPs and progress reports, as needed Participate in intakes, including conducting genograms, and present new students to staff Plan and implement clinical and health groups Supervise and evaluate clinical interns Participate in weekly peer supervision and regular supervision with Clinical Director Attend intern seminar as requested Ensure timely communication and documentation regarding incidents Help maintain appropriate, comprehensive and confidential clinical records Attend one or two professional development opportunities each month throughout the school year, with the potential of helping to lead a small number of them. Remain up to date (daily checks) with all internal email and voicemail messages Participate in a few night meetings Help maintain a safe, positive work and learning environment for all by adhering to the principles of conduct described in Gifford's policy manuals and by treating all Gifford community members with fairness and respect Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among our staff and student body, and promote an atmosphere that values these objectives Understand and represent Gifford's culture and mission to students, families, and others Within the context of your position at Gifford and as the job evolves, be open to new ideas, opportunities, and responsibilities assigned by your supervisor and/or the Executive Director Physical Requirements Ability to participate in outdoor physical activities including kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds
