_PARAGRAPH JOB_DESCRIPTION.SHARE.HTML Midland, Michigan Business Professional 0700-1630 Regular Full-Time Day Shift Medical Staff Services 46241 Job Description Summary Under the direction of the Manager of Medical Staff Services, provides a full range of advanced medical staff leadership support duties including coordination and implementation of daily operations and strategic initiatives by applying expert knowledge, critical thinking skills, and experience. This position serves as a key operational liaison between medical staff leadership, system administration, and Provider Support Services Coordinators across the system. Acts as a system-level resource and subject matter expert to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and medical staff leadership regarding medical staff professionalism processes, clinical practice enhancement activities, and organized medical staff operations. This role provides leadership, guidance, and operational oversight for Provider Support Services Coordinators (PSSCs) to promote consistency, compliance, and best practices across the system. Responsibilities (60%)• System Clinical Practice Enhancement, Leadership Council, and Medical Staff Governance Support. (40%)• Serves as the operational lead for Provider Support Services Coordinators (PSSCs) across the system. Responsible for training, mentoring, and providing guidance to PSSCs to ensure consistent execution of medical staff functions, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to organizational policies. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Clinical Practice Enhancement Committee (CPEC) Serves as the primary point of contact and responsible party for facilitating and coordinating Clinical Practice Enhancement Committee (CPEC) processes across the health system. Facilitates documentation, tracks case progression, coordinates meeting materials, and ensures timely follow-up of action items. Operationalizes and oversees the Clinical Practice Enhancement (CPE) processes to ensure effective identification, tracking, and resolution of clinical performance concerns in a manner that promotes professional development, quality improvement, and patient safety. Collaborates with Chairs of local, regional, and system CPEC committees to support fulfillment of their responsibilities. Conducts ongoing evaluation and auditing of the timeliness and effectiveness of the CPE process and communicates findings, lessons learned, and recommendations to leadership. Coordinates meeting preparation, materials, case documentation, and follow-up, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and Medical Staff Bylaws. Conducts ongoing evaluation and auditing of the timeliness and effectiveness of the CPE system and ensures relevant findings, conclusions, lessons learned, and recommendations are communicated appropriately to leadership. Leadership Council Serves as the primary point of contact for facilitation and coordination of Leadership Council processes across the health system. Attend Leadership Council meetings across the health system and supports communication and collaboration between system leadership and the organized medical staff. Ensures meeting materials, case information, and follow-up actions are prepared and aligned with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and patient safety priorities. Medical Executive Committee / Medical Staff Committees Provides operational support for Medical Executive Committee (MEC) and other medical staff committees (e.g., MCPC), including coordination of meeting preparation, materials, reports, and follow-up actions to ensure timely and effective committee function. Vice President of Medical Affairs Acts as a subject matter expert and resource to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and medical staff leadership across the health system regarding professionalism matters, clinical performance review processes, and organized medical staff governance structures. Provides operational support for Medical Executive Committee (MEC) preparation and participation, ensuring meeting materials, reports, and follow-up actions are coordinated and completed in a timely manner. Provides mentorship and guidance to medical staff services personnel to support consistent application of medical staff bylaws, policies, and credentialing standards across the system. Promotes standardization of medical staff processes and functions across the organization through collaboration with the Manager of Medical Staff Services, Vice President of Medical Affairs, Chief Medical Officer, and other administrative and medical staff leaders. Accountable for comprehensive file management, retention, security, and integrity according to retention policies and regulatory requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. true Other Information EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
College level courses in information management skills, written and verbal communication, computer/word processing, and management. Experience in health care related field and two years' experience in a medical staff office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology, Joint Commission standards, and strong interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) and excellent organizational skills with word processing skills on Microsoft Word. Ability to work independently and take initiative. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MidMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
