Job Description

Due to growing volumes and expansion, the departments of Internal Medicine at Corewell Health Taylor, Trenton, and Wayne Hospitals are seeking a Medical Director, to lead and oversee our program.
Brief Summary of Role:
To achieve excellence in clinical service, research and education. Assure that the performance expectations set forth within this exhibit are accomplished. Additional responsibilities related to leadership, service and performance are listed below. This is not intended to be all inclusive as it is recognized that from time to time circumstances may require other efforts to achieve and maintain excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist and advise administrative leadership in assessing employees and in establishing capital and operational budgets. Identify and assist in developing new programs Establish annual goals and objectives with direct supervisor that are coordinated with those of the department, the Hospital, and the System. Support research and educational activities, if applicable Support service excellence, professionalism, and Patient and Family Centered Care programs Assure that all activities are performed in compliance with standard of care, existing guidelines, policies, procedures, rules, Medical Staff Bylaws, accreditation requirements and appropriate use criteria. Support quality, safety, efficiency and performance initiatives by: participating on related hospital and system committees; participating in the development and monitoring of patient safety and quality reports; establishing process improvement initiatives; and engaging in service recovery when incidents arise. Participate in the development, approval and dissemination of all policies and procedures related to hospitalist medicine. Performance Review
