Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Position Summary Wayne General Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and organized Medical Records Director to lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Medical Records Department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and security of patient health information while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. The Medical Records Director serves as the hospital's custodian of medical records and works collaboratively with physicians, administration, radiology, coding staff, and other departments to support accurate documentation and efficient healthcare operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate Medical Records staff Oversee medical record operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Monitor and assist with coding processes as needed Maintain confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures Perform statistical analysis and reporting as needed Code outpatient surgery charts Serve as liaison to Radiology and other departments Stay current with healthcare regulations and industry best practices Ensure efficient release and handling of medical records Qualifications College degree in Registered Health Information Technology, Health Information Administration, or related field required Strong computer and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and customers Previous management experience preferred
