Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Director to lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of our specialized SANE program. This vital role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality care for survivors of sexual assault, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and legal requirements. The SANE Director will serve as a clinical leader, advocate, and administrator, fostering a compassionate environment that prioritizes patient safety, dignity, and recovery. Duties Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive sexual assault examination services across multiple shifts, ensuring timely and sensitive care for survivors. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including SANEs and support personnel, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices in trauma-informed care. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with national standards for sexual assault examinations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical legal requirements. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and case management processes to guarantee accurate record-keeping and effective patient monitoring. Manage program operations including staffing schedules, shift management, resource allocation, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system utilization to optimize workflow efficiency. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, legal teams, community organizations, and healthcare providers to coordinate care. Conduct regular quality assurance audits, review documentation accuracy, analyze patient outcomes, and implement improvements to enhance service delivery. Qualifications Nurse Practitioner license with current state licensure; additional certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) is highly preferred. Extensive critical care experience including acute care settings such as emergency departments or trauma units; experience in assisted living or home health is advantageous. Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing or healthcare management roles; ability to manage teams effectively across shifts. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and the medical aspects of sexual assault examinations. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical records management, documentation review processes, and HIPAA compliance standards. Experience in case management within healthcare environments serving vulnerable populations; understanding of Medicare regulations is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while maintaining sensitivity toward survivors. $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
