Job Description

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our hospital-employed Emergency Department team. This opportunity offers strong clinical support, consistent coverage, and the ability to practice in a community-focused emergency medicine setting. At Carlsbad Medical Center, you'll be part of Community Health Systems, a national network of regional hospitals with a shared mission to deliver high-quality care where it's needed most — close to home. Emergency Department Highlights Annual ED volume: ~30,000 visits 12-bed Emergency Department 24-hour physician coverage (two 12-hour shifts) 24-hour APC coverage (two 12-hour shifts) Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions Provide timely, high-quality emergency medical care in a moderate-volume ED Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and specialty consultants Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system Maintain adherence to hospital protocols, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine Current New Mexico medical license or eligibility for licensure Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care Comprehensive Financial Package May Include Competitive compensation Commencement bonus Residency/Fellowship stipend Annual CME allowance Relocation assistance Licenses, dues, and subscriptions Vacation benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance If you're ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.
