Part-Time or Full-Time (Negotiable) About the Position St. Xavier Community Services is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Director to lead the medical operations of our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) located in Forest Hills, Queens. The Medical Director will provide clinical leadership, oversight of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and supervision of medical staff in accordance with OASAS, SAMHSA, DEA, and all applicable federal and state regulations. - 10:00 AM Responsibilities Serve as the Medical Director for the Opioid Treatment Program.
Provide clinical oversight for all medication-assisted treatment services, including methadone, buprenorphine, and other approved medications. Conduct patient evaluations, admissions, treatment planning, and medical reviews. Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff, nurse practitioners, counselors, and other interdisciplinary team members. Ensure compliance with OASAS, SAMHSA, DEA, CMS, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements. Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in utilization review, incident review, and quality assurance activities. Provide guidance regarding patient care, medical emergencies, overdose prevention, and infectious disease management. Participate in staff training and ongoing clinical education. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board Certified in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry. Current unrestricted New York State Physician License. DEA Registration in good standing. Minimum of three (3) years of experience treating individuals with substance use disorders. Prior Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) experience strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge of OASAS, SAMHSA, DEA, and federal OTP regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience serving as a Medical Director in an OTP or substance use disorder treatment program. Experience with methadone maintenance treatment. Knowledge of quality assurance, utilization review, and regulatory compliance processes. Compensation Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
