This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic leader to contribute to both clinical excellence and departmental oversight. The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in surgical pathology, complemented by demonstrated leadership capabilities. While new graduates with exceptional leadership potential may be considered, significant post-fellowship experience is strongly preferred. Fellowship training in a Surgical Pathology subspecialty is highly advantageous. In this multifaceted role, the Medical Director will provide clinical expertise and oversight to a high-volume department that manages an impressive annual volume, including over 15,000 surgical specimens and more than 14,000 cytology specimens, encompassing both gynecological and non-gynecological cases. Oversee all clinical and administrative functions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Lead, mentor, and evaluate pathology staff, fostering professional growth and a culture of collaboration. Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and technology adoption within the department. Serve as the primary liaison for pathology services within the hospital and the broader Northwell Health system.
