Highly Competitive + Generous Benefits Package Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and visionary Medical Director to lead clinical operations across our integrated primary care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facility in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on clinical oversight to ensure exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, and team performance. The Medical Director will collaborate closely with administration, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to drive quality outcomes, enhance patient satisfaction, and support continuous clinical improvement. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Oversight Provide medical direction for primary care, rehabilitation services, and long-term care patients Oversee development and implementation of clinical protocols and standards Ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care across all service lines Participate in direct patient care (optional but encouraged) Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (CMS, DOH, etc.) Lead quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives Monitor clinical outcomes and implement corrective action plans as needed Serve as liaison during audits and regulatory surveys Interdisciplinary Collaboration Work closely with nursing leadership, therapy teams, and primary care providers Facilitate care coordination across acute, post-acute, and long-term care settings Lead case reviews, morbidity & mortality discussions, and clinical meetings Staff Leadership & Development Supervise and mentor physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical staff Provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities Strategic & Administrative Duties Contribute to organizational planning and growth strategies Assist in policy development and operational workflow optimization Support implementation of EMR systems and data-driven decision-making Qualifications Required MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics Current and unrestricted New York State medical license Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in a clinical or medical director role Experience in primary care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings Preferred Board Certification in Geriatrics or Post-Acute Care Experience with CMS regulations and long-term care compliance Strong background in quality improvement and population health Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare analytics Compensation & Benefits (Generous Package) Highly competitive base salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with employer match Paid time off + holidays CME allowance and paid CME time Malpractice insurance (fully covered) Flexible schedule options Why Join Us?
