Job Description

The Department of Medicine at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is seeking a highly motivated, full-time physician for a challenging Nocturnist Acute Medicine position. This dynamic role encompasses approximately 50% overnight solo coverage of our busy Emergency Department and 50% direct patient care on inpatient medical wards and post-acute units. These duties include cross-coverage and admissions on the inpatient medical wards and overseeing a high volume of patients in the post-acute, dementia, and long-term care spinal cord units. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will collaborate closely with advanced practice providers and resident physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Flexibility and adaptability are vital, as additional responsibilities and variable shifts will be assigned based on the evolving needs of the Acute Medicine Section. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential to succeed in this fast-paced and multifaceted environment. Board certification is preferred. Faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is available, commensurate with prior experience. Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in emergency department and inpatient medicine.
