Full-Time, permanent position Position SummaryBlue Mountain Hospital District, a Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital, is seeking an MD or DO to serve as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a collaborative medical staff while maintaining a clinical practice. The CMO will also serve on the Senior Leadership Team, shaping the hospital's strategic direction and supporting quality patient care.

The medical staff includes: 5 Medicine Physicians 2 Nurse Practitioners 1 General Surgeon 2 CRNAs Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Administration (50% of role) Align physicians and providers with the hospital's mission, vision, and values Develop and oversee patient safety and clinical quality strategies, including annual goals and performance metrics Work with clinical departments to improve HCAHPS scores Establish standards of care and evidence-based practices to improve clinical outcomes Serve as physician advisor for case managers regarding utilization issues Support the Chief of Medical Staff, Medical Executive Committee, and overall medical staff in achieving operational excellence Chair or support key physician committees focused on clinical alignment, strategic planning, and quality improvement Facilitate communication between providers, hospital leadership, the Board, and the community Promote physician leadership development and education Support physician recruitment and engagement Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (DNV, CMS/Federal, State) Contribute to population health strategies in coordination with staff, providers, and community partnersClinical Practice (50% of role) Maintain an active clinical practice within the physician's specialty to stay connected to patient care Work Schedule 50% Administrative / Leadership 50% Clinical Practice Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary Retirement plan with employer match Paid vacation and holidays Generous CME package Eligibility for National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and internal loan repayment programs Supportive work-life balance in a desirable rural location Qualifications & Experience MD or DO with active licensure in Oregon Current or ability to obtain
