Job Description Agilent's Life Sciences and Diagnostics Group (LDG) is seeking a Medical Director & Medical Safety Officer to provide enterprise-level medical leadership across patient safety, medical affairs, regulatory engagement, and product strategy. Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, this role will have global accountability for Agilent's medical safety programs and will serve as a key medical voice both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities Patient Safety & Vigilance Serve as the medical lead for patient safety in close partnership with Regulatory Affairs (RA), Quality Assurance (QA), and cross-functional subject matter experts. Provide medical oversight for the assessment and escalation of customer complaints, adverse events, and patient safety concerns. Act as the medical authority within Agilent's Adverse Event and Vigilance programs. Serve as the escalated point of contact for medically related product inquiries and complex safety issues. Champion the voice of the patient, ensuring patient advocacy remains central to decision-making. Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure products are used safely, ethically, and in alignment with labeling, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Medical Affairs & Scientific Leadership Provide medical and scientific expertise to internal stakeholders, customers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and external partners, including EQA programs. Ensure all promotional, educational, and marketing materials meet Agilent standards for scientific accuracy, clinical relevance, and integrity. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop clinically meaningful educational content, protocols, and materials reflecting real-world diagnostic practice. Represent Agilent as the medical voice at national, regional, and international medical and scientific conferences, engaging with and influencing KOLs and customers. Regulatory & Compliance Leadership Partner with RA/QA on global regulatory submissions and act as the medical expert interface with regulatory authorities. Lead medical responses to regulatory agency inquiries related to safety, efficacy, and clinical performance. Develop, maintain, and oversee medical policies, processes, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements across medical activities and product launches. Product Strategy & Business Development Contribute to LDG's biomedical and precision medicine strategy, supporting expansion into emerging areas of science. Serve as Medical Representative and SME for the Digital Pathology portfolio, supporting CDx development and global commercialization efforts. Advise Product Lifecycle, R D, and Marketing teams on medical, clinical, and scientific considerations. Evaluate emerging technologies, competitive landscapes, and market trends to inform product and business strategy. Partner with Sales and Marketing to support customer adoption, clinical value articulation, and market penetration of LDG products. Qualifications MD or MD/PhD required Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology preferred Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience at the time of entry into this role Industry experience strongly preferred, particularly within diagnostics, medical devices, digital pathology, or life sciences Demonstrated experience in patient safety, medical affairs, regulatory interaction, and cross-functional leadership Proven ability to operate as a senior medical leader in a global, matrixed organization Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule. The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $130,240.00 - $244,200.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
