Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and clinically driven Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as a Part-Time Medical Director within our growing outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program. This position is ideal for a provider seeking a balanced, supportive, and mission-focused environment with flexible hybrid scheduling and strong administrative support. The Medical Director will provide oversight of medication management services, toxicology review, and select clinical assessments while collaborating closely with leadership and clinical staff to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance. Essential Responsibilities Clinical Oversight Provide medication management services for SUD and co-occurring mental health clients Conduct psychiatric and substance use assessments as needed Review and oversee toxicology screening processes and protocols Collaborate with clinical staff regarding treatment planning and continuity of care Leadership & Compliance Support quality assurance and regulatory compliance initiatives Collaborate with executive leadership and the Clinical Supervisor regarding clinical operations Provide clinical consultation and guidance to staff as needed Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews Ensure clinical documentation and prescribing practices meet applicable standards Requirements Active Maryland medical license with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent qualification. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management. Strong understanding of FDA regulations related to psychiatric medications and treatment protocols. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate medical concepts into clear guidance for staff and stakeholders. Experience in outpatient behavioral health and/or substance use treatment preferred Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) preferred. Strong understanding of clinical documentation and compliance standards.
