regulations Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Medical Director to provide medical oversight and leadership for a psychiatric clinical research study. The Psychiatric Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring participant safety, protocol compliance, scientific integrity, and adherence to regulatory requirements throughout the study. This role collaborates closely with Principal Investigators, research staff, sponsors, and regulatory agencies to support the successful execution of psychiatric research while maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and clinical excellence. Duties Provide psychiatric and medical oversight for all aspects of the clinical research study. Review study protocols and ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, HIPAA requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Conduct psychiatric assessments and provide clinical guidance regarding participant eligibility, diagnosis, treatment considerations, and safety monitoring. Monitor and evaluate adverse events, serious adverse events, and psychiatric safety concerns throughout the study. Serve as the primary psychiatric consultant for investigators, study coordinators, sponsors, and research personnel. Collaborate with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), sponsors, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and regulatory agencies regarding study conduct and participant safety. Review participant medical and psychiatric records to ensure protocol compliance and data integrity. Provide oversight of informed consent processes and participant protection measures. Participate in investigator meetings, sponsor calls, safety review committees, and monitoring visits. Assist in the interpretation of study data and contribute to study reports, publications, presentations, and regulatory submissions. Ensure study documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready. Support the advancement of evidence-based psychiatric treatments through high-quality clinical research. Skills & Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Active and unrestricted medical license. Experience in psychiatric clinical research, including clinical trials involving psychiatric disorders and behavioral health interventions. Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment practices. Thorough understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, HIPAA requirements, and human subject protection guidelines. Experience working with IRBs, sponsors, CROs, and regulatory agencies. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and clinical research documentation systems. Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Experience with protocol development, safety monitoring, data review, and regulatory compliance preferred.
