We are partnering with a clinical-stage biotech company seeking a Senior Director / VP of Medical Affairs to build and lead the Medical Affairs function for a growing immunology & inflammation pipeline spanning dermatology and respiratory indications. This individual will serve as a key scientific and clinical leader, responsible for developing and executing medical affairs strategy across KOL engagement, scientific communications, publication planning, evidence generation, medical education, congress strategy, and launch preparedness. The role offers the opportunity to shape the function from an early stage and work cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, and executive leadership. Boston-area candidates preferred with hybrid flexibility available. Role includes domestic and international travel.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute global medical affairs strategy aligned with clinical development and long-term organizational goals Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and treating clinicians across dermatology and respiratory disease Lead scientific exchange activities including advisory boards, congress engagement, and external medical education initiatives Oversee publication strategy and scientific communications, including abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations at major medical meetings Partner cross-functionally on clinical strategy, data interpretation, scientific messaging, and launch planning Help establish and scale medical affairs processes, infrastructure, and external engagement strategy within a fast-paced biotech environmentQualifications:
MD, PharmD, or PhD required Minimum of 10+ years of experience within Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or related functions Prior experience in immunology/inflammation required; dermatology and/or respiratory experience strongly preferred Demonstrated success with KOL engagement, publication strategy, and congress activities Experience supporting late-stage clinical development and/or commercial launch activities preferred Prior experience in emerging biotech companies or building functions from the ground up is highly desirableSimilar jobs in Waltham, MA
