As our Medical Director , you will lead a growing team of specialty and emergency veterinarians. Working alongside a dedicated leadership team, including a Hospital Administrator, a Director of Clinical Staff, and a Client Service Supervisor, you'll have the opportunity to combine clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, focusing on clinical excellence, mentorship, and strategic growth. Key Responsibilities:
Work on the clinical floor 3-4 days per week Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Veterinarians Conduct annual reviews, host team meetings, develop compliance protocols, and ensure adherence to standards of care Oversee medical staffing plans and align doctor scheduling to patient care needs and operational goals Partner with Hospital Leadership and Regional Operations to drive hospital strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve financial goals Create and maintain a positive, team-first environment focused on quality medicine and outstanding client service Support Veterinarians' professional and personal development through coaching and guidance Live and work in scenic Chattanooga! Benefits:
$180-200k base salary + production (no negative accrual) (negotiable) Higher base salary offered for specialists pursuing a Medical Director position Eligible for an annual performance bonus Equity available to qualified candidates Up to $50k sign-on bonus Up to $10k relocation assistance 401(k) Retirement Plan and 2% company match Paid parental leave Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off CE Allowance ($3,500 a year and 3 days of CE-specific PTO for Medical Directors) We pay 100% of Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and State Licensure Fees Access to specialized veterinary training courses, including a Veterinary Medical Director Cohort Training Program. Our ideal candidate:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent Active veterinary license in Tennessee (or ability to obtain
- we cover state licensure transfer fees) Federal DEA licenses or is eligible to obtain upon hire 5+ years of Emergency (ER) Veterinary Medicine practice experience Prior experience in a Medical Director or leadership role Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills Proficiency in internal medicine, diagnostics, surgery and emergency care Committed to practicing gold-standard medicine and fostering a positive, growth-focused culture
