Job Overview:
The Regional Medical Director will provide clinical leadership, guide quality improvement efforts, communicate policies and procedures, and participate in key workgroups and committees. This role works closely with a strong regional leadership team and is part of a statewide group of Regional Medical Directors reporting to the Medical Director of Community Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include overseeing physicians and nurse practitioners delivering reproductive health services for women, leading primary care services in four county health departments, and ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practice standards. The Regional Medical Director will also direct the regional response to communicable disease reports and ensure completion of the Child Fatality Review process as required by state law.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Regional Medical Director must have completed a graduate medical education program and hold either a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree, have been board certified in their specialty, and maintain a valid license to practice medicine in the state of Tennessee.
