Key Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records Administration, or a related field high preferred. Minimum, three (3) years of experience in medical records or health information management, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting. In-depth understanding of federal and state regulations related to medical records, HIPAA compliance, and long-term care documentation standards. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage confidential information accurately and securely. Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and administration teams to ensure complete and compliant recordkeeping.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Medical Records is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining an effective health information management system that ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, survey guidelines, and professional standards of practice. This position upholds the facility's policies and procedures governing medical records and health information to ensure accurate, complete, and confidential documentation of resident care.
