Job Description:
What the Manager, Medical Group does at Worldwide The Manager, Medical Group oversees the performance of study procedures by team leads, paramedics, floor monitors, technical shift leads, phlebotomists and other technical staff, performs study procedures, and provides medical coverage as needed while subjects are in-house. He/she performs technical, laboratory, and administrative tasks following Worldwide Clinical Trials (Worldwide) procedures and study protocol requirements. The Manager, Medical Group works under the direct supervision and guidance of the Senior Manager, Medical Group, and indirectly under the Medical Director and Associate Director, Clinical Conduct. He/she will provide direction and supervision to all team leaders, paramedics, phlebotomists, technicians. What you will do Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Medical Group, and the Medical Director, oversees the hiring, performance and activities of all team leaders, paramedic, phlebotomy, and technician staff Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Medical Group and the Medical Director's standing orders, functions as Worldwide's medical coverage in case of an emergency for subjects visiting Worldwide Project staffing needs in advance to ensure adequate staffing for all studies Ensures position-specific or protocol-specific training is completed and thorough documentation is on file before any supervised employee performs any job-related duties Ensures all study procedures are performed on time, following both the study protocol and WCTEPS procedures Dispenses concomitant medications as needed and directed by the study Investigator What you will bring to the role Customer service skills and be able to perform duties at a fast pace without errors Good documentation and organizational skills and good attention to detail Knowledge and skills in performing technical procedures; experience performing phlebotomy, vital signs, ECGs, telemetry monitoring, Holter monitoring, IVs, computer skills Medical equipment as indicated by protocol or standing orders for the care of subjects and completion of study requirements Your experience Texas Department of Health Paramedic certification, a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Minimum 3 years of clinical research experience as a paramedic, LVN or RN, performing at the ALS skill level. BLS and ACLS certification
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree. One (1) year working as a Lead Medic on an ALS unit for a 911 or private EMS agency. Or 5 years working in a clinical setting utilizing ALS skills. Clinical Research knowledge.
