Job Opening:
Hospitalist Physician Join a dedicated medical team at a 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital located in the scenic southeastern Vermont. This facility is committed to delivering exceptional, compassionate, and patient-centered care to a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. We are currently seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to become part of our mission-driven medical staff. Job Responsibilities Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges. Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. Collaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, and ancillary services. Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care. Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests and imaging studies. Document all patient encounters and care plans in the EMR in a timely manner. Respond to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations. Provide ventilator management. Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans. Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. No procedures required, and work with specialty backup available. Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal or Family Medicine. Active Vermont Medical License. DEA License (must be obtained prior to start). BLS and ACLS Certification. Ventilator management experience. Experience running codes. 2-3 years of Hospitalist experience (highly preferred). Rural health experience (highly preferred). Clean malpractice history. License and Certification Requirements MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Board Certification or Eligibility (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine). Active Vermont Medical License. DEA License (must be obtained before starting). BLS and ACLS Certification. Experience in ventilator management and running codes.
