Job Description

About the RoleShenandoah Community Health (SCH) is seeking a Lead Prescriber (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) to provide high-quality psychiatric care while serving as a clinical leader within our integrated behavioral health program.

This role combines direct patient care, team leadership, and program oversight, including a key focus on expanding and maintaining excellence in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.

What Youll DoClinical CareConduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planningPrescribe and manage psychotropic medicationsMonitor patient progress, side effects, and treatment outcomesProvide patient education and brief therapeutic interventionsCoordinate care with primary care and community providersLeadership & Program OversightServe as a clinical leader and psychopharmacology expertLead integration of behavioral health within behavioral health care teamsProvide clinical and operational oversight of the SUD program, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, including MAT requirements and confidentiality standards (42 CFR Part 2)Develop and implement clinical protocols and workflowsDrive quality improvement and performance initiativesSupport clinical staff through mentorship, training, and consultationCollaboration & StrategyPartner with leadership on program development and growthParticipate in peer review, case consultation, and team meetingsSupport access, patient flow, and care coordination effortsWhat Were Looking ForCertified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)Active and unrestricted West Virginia APRN license (or eligible)WV DEA license and prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain)3+ years of behavioral health experienceExperience with SUD/MAT programs strongly preferredPrior leadership or supervisory experience a plusAll license / certifications must be obtained prior to start dateWhy Join Us?
