Opportunity:
As a member of the Center's leadership team, the Clinical Director (CD) contributes to strategic planning of the clinical and administrative functions of the Center's psychological, counseling, consultation, and training services/programs and supports the Director in coordinating the development and implementation of clinical operations. The CD works with the Director in developing and updating the Center's policies to ensure compliance with accreditation, legal, and ethical guidelines, and assists in the accreditation/reaccreditation processes. This position is responsible for the development of assessment goals and outcome measures and conducts regular data analyses and reports. The CD advises related operational changes based on the collected data. The CD will work with the Director, the leadership team, and campus partners to support and develop additional satellite centers and build an integrated, seamless system of care to meet the behavioral health needs of WVU students. What You'll Do:
Actively promotes multicultural competence and awareness in the Center' vision, operations, and culture
Provide oversight for the organization and integration of Center clinical operations, training, and outreach
Continuously assess, develop, and improve clinical services to provide innovative, optimal college mental health services in response to the changing needs of student and the University
Collaborate with the leadership team to maintain adherence to IACS and APA accreditation standards as well as the ethical and practice standards of various training programs represented at the Center
Organize and facilitate the Clinical Services Committee as well as other committees as assigned
Manage clinical services sections of Center website and the Center's Policy and Procedures Manual Collaborate with the leadership team to provide administration, strategic planning policy development and implementation, quality assurance, grant writing, and program evaluation initiatives Monitor, evaluate, and keep informed of evolving standards of practice in the university counseling center field and keep abreast of pertinent regulations, laws, publications and information. Provide comparison analysis to Director for evaluation and support the Director in ensuring the Center policies and procedures are consistent with these standards and best practices.
Provides coverage for the duties of the Director during any absence
Supervises the coordination of referrals and bridge to care appointments with Student Health, the Emergency Department, and Healthy Minds University.
Collaborates with University CARE Team and TACT Team as needed Generalist Clinical /
Outreach Duties:
Provides multiculturally-sensitive brief counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, groups, and couples with diverse presenting concerns.
Provides clinical services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, short-term counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation, and case management
Conducts comprehensive assessments and intake evaluations, triage, and participation in CCCPS's crisis intervention services, U/CC, and after-hours crisis coverage.
Completes required documentation in an electronic health record system and conducts quality assurance activities
Serves as a liaison to various campus stakeholders and ensures that students, faculty and staff are provided with timely information regarding CCPPS and student mental health concerns and resources.
Attends case conference, committees, task forces, and other meetings related to the mission of the Center and the University
Provides clinical supervision to trainees, predoctoral interns, and unlicensed staff and facilitates seminars on a variety of clinical or professional topics.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Counseling Psychology
Counseling or Clinical Psychology (Ph.D., Ed.
D., or Psy.
D.) from an accredited program or a terminal degree in applicants respective mental health field.
A minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience in a University Counseling Center setting
3 years of administrative/management/supervisory experience
Demonstrated background working effectively in a multidisciplinary setting
Knowledge of program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives, or data driven clinical systems
Experience with Titanium Electronic Medical Record is highly desirable
For Psychologists:
one-year full time predoctoral internship in an APA-accredited Professional Psychology program that includes a primary rotation in adult outpatient counseling/therapy and counseling. All qualifications must be met by the time of employment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience providing short-term counseling and crisis intervention (in person and via telehealth).
Demonstrated commitment to the principles and cultural humility based counseling and leadership principles
Excellent leadership, organizational, management, and communication skills
Commitment and ability to promote and enhance diversity, including development of multicultural competence in clinical services
Ability to work successfully as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team
Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently conduct, document and evaluate individual, and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach with a college aged population Experience using and overseeing an Electronic Medical Record System and various software programs, including but not limited to Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Requirements
Licensed (or licensed eligible within six months) within the State of West Virginia
