Radiation Oncology Supervisor

To plan, direct, organize and supervise the Radiation Therapy team and operational activities within the Radiation Oncology University Hospital Ambulatory Care Unit. Develop and implement unit objectives, policies, and procedure programs. Develop, revise and assure implementation of policies, procedures and methods. Perform analysis and interpret special studies on operations, costs or staffing requirements Participate in the preparation of budget plans, man-hour reports, data collection for lean projects and special reports. Implement new research in clinical area. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies. Interview, recommend employment, orient and train professional staff. Assist in setting and adjust employees' rates of pay and hours of work. Plan and direct employees' work. Appraise employees' productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in their status. Handle employees' complaints and grievances, and discipline them when necessary. Hire, fire, or promote assigned employees and/or make recommendations. May monitor utilization of equipment and recommend capital and non-capital purchases. May supervise patient care and monitor productivity of the unit. May coordinate classroom and clinical teaching of students and House staff, as required. May evaluate and treat the more complex, specialized cases referred to the unit. May assist in the planning of departmentally sponsored continuing education programs. May represent the discipline at conferences, clinics, medical rounds and community relations. Deliver Radiation treatments as needed for coverage. Work with other leads in the department for one piece patient flow. Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy Active ARRT certification Reasonable progressive responsible clinical experience is necessary Competent and proficient performing all procedures relating to patient treatment and use of Aria software. Must be a team player who is able to handle themselves in a professional manner and work well within a large, diverse team. Builds constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect. Builds credibility as a representative by demonstrating personal commitment and sharing information. Previous supervisory experience and considerable demonstrated leadership ability. Considerable knowledge of University and Radiation Oncology policies, procedures and regulations is necessary. Registration in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is necessary. Graduate degree preferred Five days, 40 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the clinic.
