Job Description

Permanent Radiation Oncologist position in ME close to Portland BC/BE in Radiation Oncology Experience with modern radiation therapy technologies and treatment planning systems preferred Hospital-employed position Level II Trauma Center - 250-bed hospital Base salary and full benefits package Clinical Care Provide comprehensive radiation oncology services including consultation, treatment planning, and ongoing patient management for oncology patients. Evaluate patients to determine appropriate radiation therapy protocols. Develop individualized radiation treatment plans using advanced technologies and evidence-based guidelines. Administer and oversee external beam radiation therapy, stereotactic radiation, and other advanced modalities as available. Monitor treatment response and manage potential side effects of radiation therapy. Multidisciplinary Collaboration Work closely with medical oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and other specialists to coordinate integrated cancer care. Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and oncology case conferences. Collaborate with radiation therapists, medical physicists, and dosimetrists to ensure accurate and safe delivery of radiation treatments. Program Development & Quality Support continued development and growth of the cancer program at Central Maine Medical Center. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety programs, and accreditation standards for oncology services. Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. Community & Education Engage in community outreach, patient education, and cancer awareness initiatives. Participate in teaching opportunities if affiliated with medical education programs.
