  • June 12, 2027 The Contra Costa Jewish Day School is a K-8 independent school with approximately 170 students, accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
We seek a part-time Front Office Co-Manager. The position covers our morning shift (7:30am-12:30pm) for a total of 25 hours per week, with the possibility of up to five additional hours per week for other admin support. This person can start paid training immediately and begin regular work hours in late July for the 2026-27 school year. The Front Office welcomes all visitors to the school and provides essential support for students, families and teachers
  • including but not limited to first-aid, emergency preparedness, student record-keeping, and regular communication with staff and families.
The Office Manager ensures that the office culture and operations reflect our commitment to professionalism, warmth and careful attention to detail. We seek a highly organized professional with the ability to oversee and execute a wide range of daily tasks while maintaining a respectful and efficient workplace that supports the entire school. Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (desired) 2+ years of relevant work experience Experience working in a school setting or other business serving families and/or children Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite Proficiency with using web-based databases or willingness to learn A desire to work in a highly collaborative environment A passion for excellence and desire to help create a nurturing, safe environment for our students within a welcoming, inclusive community A love of children and a friendly and professional demeanor in all interactions Offers contingent on passing a background check and TB assessment
Duties:
Greet, communicate, and care for students, parents, staff and guests/visitors. Assist with sick or injured students and staff (basic first aid) and communicate with parents as needed. Maintain student and staff records
  • attendance reporting, vaccination and medical records, filing and records maintenance, etc.
Schedule substitutes to cover teacher/staff absences and create online scheduler for parent-teacher conferences (twice yearly). Maintain a clean, well-organized front office, lobby, school entrance and staff areas. Organize and display student lost-and-found items, coordinate weekly challah ordering and distribution, and provide other logistical support for daily operations. Assist with school communications
  • including monitoring front office email and phone, maintaining school calendar, and providing support with mailings and e-communications Manage office supplies and respond to staff requests for supplies and assistance.
Have working knowledge of office printer/copier and assist others in its use when needed. Lead and coordinate fire and safety drills with security officers and staff. Be in communication with campus security officer if needed. Help monitor office radio. Manage custodial service personnel duties and scheduling Additional Duties coordinated with Office Co-Manager and/or assigned by Head of School.
