In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster a welcoming environment for clients and their pets. Your expertise in medical office management combined with your passion for animal health will help us deliver exceptional veterinary services while maintaining efficient practice workflows. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team in a fast-paced, pet-centered environment committed to excellence and compassionate care. Responsibilities Lead the overall management of the veterinary practice, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency. Oversee medical administrative support functions such as medical records management, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Avimark or Covetrus Comms, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations. Supervise clinical staff including assistants and veterinary technicians, providing guidance on medical procedures, acute care protocols, and critical care practices. Manage fiscal responsibilities such as budgeting, financial management, billing processes, and revenue management. Ensure adherence to healthcare standards including JCAHO accreditation requirements and utilization management protocols. Coordinate human resources activities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive team environment. Maintain clinic operations by overseeing office management tasks such as inventory control, procurement of medical supplies, and facility maintenance. Implement quality assurance initiatives to improve patient care outcomes and streamline clinic workflows. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office management within healthcare settings; veterinary experience is highly preferred. Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure high-quality patient care delivery. Strong supervisory skills with demonstrated success in managing teams in a clinical or hospital environment. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations including AAHA. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in fiscal management including budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue cycle processes.
