Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Staff member to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative and clinical support, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent patient care. This role involves managing patient records, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with clinical documentation. Familiarity with dental terminology, EMR systems, and office management is essential to succeed in this position. The Dental Office Staff will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and delivering outstanding patient service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet patients professionally and provide excellent front desk customer service Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Open Dental Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims accurately using CDT Coding Manage patient records within OpenDental. Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform collections as needed Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards Assist with patient intake procedures, including medical history updates and data entry Maintain accurate filing of dental records, treatment plans, and care documentation Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries or appointment scheduling Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and general clerical duties Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and data security Assist dental clinicians with administrative tasks related to treatment documentation and care plans Qualifications Prior experience in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred; experience with dental terminology and office management software such as Open Dental. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Proficient computer skills including Google Docs, online. Bilingual abilities are desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced dental office environment while maintaining professionalism This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing quality dental care.
