  • $120,000 a year
  • Full-time A growth-minded, true startup solo ophthalmology practice with zero patients and zero referral sources is seeking an experienced practice / office manager / administrator to help launch, build, and grow the practice from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced, hands-on professional who takes pride in building systems from ground up, fostering culture, and contributing meaningfully to patient care. We are looking for the co-captain of this enterprise, someone with a very strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, personal integrity, and an innovative, solution-oriented, and nimble mindset. You must possess deep experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, HR, Federal and State compliance matters, vendor selection, and, ultimately, devising and implementing a course for ethical business growth. The practice has a remote ophthalmic biller and ready access to various highly seasoned ophthalmic consultants. The owner and sole physician is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with over 18 years of post-training experience, specializing in cataract surgery and common in-office laser procedures. Colleagues and patients describe the physician as very ethical and honest, intellectually curious, and deeply committed to delivering excellent care while doing no harm. A core belief of the practice is that the most important investment any business can make is in its people—both staff and patients. Role Overview In addition to traditional practice management and administrative responsibilities, this role will be hands-on during the early startup phase.
The duties will include:
  • Answering phones and scheduling patient appointments
  • Coordinating with a remote US-based billing specialist
  • Helping establish workflows, systems, and operational processes
  • Helping establish a marketing campaign During the very early phase, the manager may be the practice's only employee.
As the practice grows, additional staff will be hired, and the role will evolve into a more traditional leadership and management position. This position is ideal for someone who values autonomy, leadership, and the opportunity to play a foundational role in building a high-quality, patient-centered medical practice.
