Job Description
Switzerland Animal Hospital is a privately owned, four-doctor veterinary practice looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Practice Manager to lead our team and support the daily operations of our growing hospital. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is willing to take ownership of both the operational and people sides of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires accountability, follow-through, and a willingness to step into all aspects of practice management, including the more challenging areas. Candidates should have prior experience owning operations, leading teams, and being responsible for outcomes, not just tasks.
Core Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for overseeing the full scope of hospital operations, ensuring the practice runs efficiently, the team is supported, and the business remains financially healthy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading and supporting the team, including scheduling, accountability, coaching, and performance management Overseeing daily operations and workflow to ensure efficiency and a positive client and patient experience Managing financial performance, including budgeting, expense control, and revenue tracking Maintaining accurate financial records, reporting, and overall practice profitability Overseeing HR functions, including hiring, onboarding, training, and employee relations Ensuring payroll, PTO tracking, and administrative functions are completed accurately and on time Managing inventory, vendor relationships, and cost control Supporting and improving the client experience, including handling escalations and identifying opportunities for growth Implementing and maintaining hospital policies, procedures, and standards Partnering with leadership to set priorities, drive initiatives, and support the long-term growth of the practice Responsibilities will evolve based on the needs of the practice and are not limited to a fixed list. Key Skills & Experience for Success inThis Role:
Strong math skills and confidence in financial management Experience with budgeting and all aspects of bookkeeping Proficiency in QuickBooks Payroll processing and PTO tracking/management HR experience, including handling employee relations and disciplinary actions Ability to manage and de-escalate upset clients with professionalism and empathy Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Consistent follow-through and accountability Willingness to step into areas that may feel uncomfortable and handle them directly Experience with inventory management and operational oversight CVPM credential is a plus, but not requiredCompensation & Benefits:
