Are you a skilled optician who takes pride in helping patients see their best and find frames they love? We're a busy, established doctor-owned optometry practice in Astoria, Queens seeking an experienced full-time Optician/Optical Manager to join our team. Our practice has proudly served the community for over 25 years and maintains a very busy schedule, with appointments routinely booked six weeks in advance. We are looking for an energetic, patient-focused professional who is passionate about helping patients see and look their best while growing our optical department.Responsibilities:
Frame styling and sales- Lens recommendations and dispensing
- Educating patients on premium lens options and visual solutions
- Insurance verification and billing for vision plans
- Managing frame inventory and vendor relationships
- Ordering, tracking, and dispensing eyewear
- Troubleshooting and adjusting eyewear
- Maintaining an attractive, organized optical dispensary
- Assisting in improving patient retention and optical capture rate
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients
Qualifications:
Previous optical sales experience required- New York Licensed Optician preferred but not required for exceptional candidates
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Experience with vision plans and optical billing
- Knowledge of lens products and frame styling
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
